Detail of a mosaic pavement from the "Villa des Laberii". In the midst of an allegorical wine harvest, we have an illustration of the legend according to which Dionysos bestowed the vine on Ikarios, king of Attica, as a gift. The god is shown as a young athlete crowned with vine leaves and carrying a scepter. The old king is seated and receives the bunch of grape from an attendant. The original mosaic can be found in Bardo Museum, Tunis.
